I’m quite excited to be writing this Sales Lead Brokerage Profit Plan Review today because I have been using it since January 2013 and it has enable my girlfriend to quit her full time job and come and work part time with me in my business – for more money!

I first heard of the business model when I got an email from Nick Laight at Canonbury Publishing in December last year containing his free Fast Cash Compendium Report that he sends out to his subscribers every Christmas.

There was enough information in that report to really get my brain ticking and in January I set about setting it up.

PLUS: I have created my own ‘Advice Pack’ which I will let you have FREE of charge if you chose to order the system from this page

So enough introduction, let’s just get on with it.

What’s it about?

Sales Lead Brokerage is actually a very simple simple business.

You basically take information that is held on a government website which is in the public domain and sell it to local business as sales leads.

What is this information?

Well, every time someone buys a house in the UK, the details of the sale goes onto a government website and held in the public domain. Because those details are in the public domain they are yours to do what you want with – including selling them as leads to local businesses.

These details are published on the 20th working day of every month so every month you have fresh set of sales leads to sell.

So think about this for a second…

When you move house or buy a new house you spend money decorating it, putting new carpets in, having the garden done and even extensions.

And local businesses like plasterer’s, joiners, builders, kitchen fitters will bite your hand off for fresh sales leads every month – especially when time are hard because they want maximum (and measurable) return on their marketing investment.

And that’s where you come in. You can contact these types of companies (there are 215 different types of businesses you can target in the manual) and sell them a fresh set of leads every single month.

So you’re essentially taking FREE information, re-packaging it and selling it again to create a residual monthly income – which is the key to a solid business.

What do I need to make it work?

You’re going to need a few things;

  • A business name – as you’re selling business to business, you’ll need to look professional so I would suggest you come up with a business name.
  • A Business Bank Account – Again, this comes down to having a professional image so you’ll want a bank account in the name of your business.
  • A computer and printer – You’re going to need to get your name out there and get in contact with local businesses  so if you’re going to be using the pre-written sales materials you’ll need to have the ability to print them.
  • A couple of hundred pounds (although this is not essential) – if you’re sending out the pre-written sales material to prospective clients you’ll need a budget to pay for things like postage, printing etc. If you’re happy to go out and meet people face to face you can do it relatively cheaply.

How much money can I expect to make?

The depends very much on you and your efforts and how big you want to be.

My girlfriend and I are currently bringing in around £2,700 per month at the moment and we’re just operating locally. We are looking to increase this by bringing in more clients over the coming months but here’s a quick look at the income we’ve generated so far;

Are there any bad points?

I’m going to be really picky here.

The Sales Lead Brokerage manual has a chapter called ‘Selling Your Service’ and it goes into several ways of marketing and selling the service that you’re offering – including face to face selling.

What there is no mention of (and this is where I have had the majority of success in selling the service) is local business networking meetings. Some are paid but if you have a look around your local area there are probably meeting that you can attend for free.

At the start of these meetings you are usually give 30 – 60 seconds to give your ‘elevator pitch’ and tell everyone what your business is about and what you can do for your clients.

So that wasn’t mentioned in the manual.

But apart from that, the business model is a very sound one and we have been able to plug it into our business without any problems at all really.

What I would say though is that this might not be for everyone. In my experience business to business sales (which is what this essentially is) can seem quite scary for some people. You don’t need to be the best sales person in the world but you will need to be able to deliver sales your message confidently.

Having said that, the manual does cover 12 powerful sales arguments that you can use and also covers various types of selling, including face to face selling.

But if you have done sales or retail before and you can hold a conversation and deliver a message confidently then this might be right up your street.

Either way, there is a full 6 month guarantee so you’ve got plenty of time to give this a go and to see if it’s right for you.

Summary

On the whole I really like the Sales Lead Brokerage Profit Plan.

It is genius in it’s simplicity, the manual covers pretty much everything you need to know in order to get started and is written in plain English so it is very easy to understand.

Like I have already mentioned, my girlfriend has been able to quit her low paid job and work with me from home now. Don’t get me wrong, this business isn’t ‘raking it in’ yet but we have only been going six months at a very casual pace and she doesn’t have to set the alarm in the morning anymore which is nice!

So I suppose that’s the highest recommendation I can give really, my girlfriend is proof that it works and we have created a new arm to our existing business by using it.

I would also say that the £67 price tag is actually very generous considering your very first client should be paying you ten times that amount at least.

Plus,  there’s that 6 month guarantee which is very rare so if you decide that its not for you within that 6 month period you will be entitled to your money back.

    Hi Ben,

I was very interested in this review, I have come across Cannonbury Publishing in the past and Nick Leight, I have always come away with the impression that he and Cannonbury are, to say the least, just a tad optimistic with their projections and promises.

So, seeing your positive review has got me interested! You say that you and your girl friend are bringing in about £2700/m – is this the case still? Do you still think this is a viable prospect in other parts of the country?

Anyway, I would be interested to hear your current assessment.

P.S. I am a past customer of yours – very good book on ebay arbitrage!!

    • Ben says:

      Hi Graham!

      Thanks for your comment!

Yes the system is still working for us at the moment – I’m trying to give my girlfriend a push to go out and get some more clients as it’s been myself that has brought them in so far so at the moment it’s not growing as I’d like.

It’s not the system at fault, it’s us!

In terms of it working in other areas of the country, if it can work in here in Lincoln, there no reason at all why it can’t work anywhere else.

But I know what you mean, I have seen some big claims made. Not just by Canonbury either. Some other well known publishers too!

      I hope this helps!

By the way, which one of my eBay books did you buy?

      Thanks

      Ben

      • Graham says:

        Thanks Ben,

The book I bought from you was Pre-Owned Profits, I was and am selling used items on ebay and your book added extra dimension to my sales.

If I go ahead with Canonbury ( with 1 N) I will buy through your link to get your bonus.

        Thanks again Ben.

    Hi Ben,

I recently purchased this business plan through your link (having come across the main sales page previously – that was on a different computer the click through on your link should’ve been identified as a new lead).

I sent you an email on the 11th to request a copy of the supplementary ‘Advice Pack’ which you offer as an incentive to make the purchase through your link, however have received no response yet.

Hopefully that’s because your businesses are keeping you busy. However it would be useful to learn from your experience so if you can take the time out to honour your offer I’m sure I would find the info useful.

I would also love to be able to pick your brains on one or two other aspects of the business.

I run my own (unrelated) business already but the market has contracted, and this looks like it may help to plug the gap.

    Thanks,
    Roger

  • Mark Scanlon says:

Hello Ben (I’m popping up rather a lot on your threads today – hope you don’t mind!)

How is this going for you these days? One thing I wonder about – do clients stress concern about not being able to personalise their approach to the new house owners? Although knowing when a property is sold, I take it you would’t know the name of the buyer . Many thanks.

    • Ben says:

      Hi Mark,

      It’s still going OK.

I’ve not gone out and actively picked up any clients for ages but the clients I do have are happy with the responses they’re getting so they keep paying!

I’ve not really got the time to keep looking for customers for this as I have another business that takes priority. But it does work if you put the graft in – which you do need to do in the beginning.

In terms of the Personalisation of the mail, I don’t worry about it. How many letters do you get from Virgin Media addresses to the occupier?!

      I get loads!

      Ben

  • Mark Scanlon says:

    Thanks for that, Ben.

Have the latest house sale transactions been flowing from the land registry website on time in recent months? The reason I ask is I read on another website that there had been some lagging last year which obviously made the leads older than ideal (as you’d have known I guess!)

    Thanks for your time.

  • Walter Cairns says:

It seems to me that the problem with this idea is that there must be a very strict limit on the number of builders, etc to whom you can sell that info. Suppose you sell the info to, say, 20 interior decorators and on each occasion they try to approach the potential client they find that one of the other 20 has been there first -won’t the attraction of the service begin to pall rather quickly?

    • Ben says:

      Hi Walter,

What you see as a ‘problem’, I see as an opportunity.

So there are fifty builders in your town, so what? This is what I did…

I got in touch with every one of them and told them that I could supply them in hot leads – but I could only supply one of them. It’s the easiet sell ever.

Then I got in touch with the kitchen companies, joiners, carpet companies, landscape gardeners etc.

Don’t forget, you only need to supply 4 companies for £500 a month and you’re earning £24k a year.

      I hope this helps.

      Ben

  • Walter Cairns says:

Fair enough, but that surely means that there is only room for one broker per town – and with my luck the area will already have been taken! Cheers Walter

  • Ion says:

Will this work outside the UK?

  • Elaine Atkinson says:

Hi Ben, I’m on the brink of starting my Leads business but the thing I’m struggling with is how to price the product. I don’t want to underprice or price myself out of the market. Have you any tips to help me get started.

    Elaine.

    • Ben says:

Hi Elaine, much of pricing on any service is about testing, and maybe even split testing to see what works best for you, that way you can filter what is working and what is maybe restricting sales.

      Ben

  • Ike says:

I bought the The Complete Sales Lead Brokerage Profit Plan through your website but I am still yet to receive the document you promised, despite contacting you previously. I hope to hear from you soon. A fantastic Christmas and New Year to you in advance.

    Best Regards,

    Ike

    • Ben says:

      Hi Ike,

I have today emailed you the document you require.

A merry Christmas to you also, and a all the best for the New Year.

      Ben

  • DARREN says:

    Hi Ben,

Are you still using this method to make money? Did you manage to increase the income? Have you tried emailing local leads or just using the posted letter method?

    Thanks
    Darren
